TED is a global nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become much broader, to include the whole spectrum of human ingenuity and creativity. Along with two annual events -- the TED Conference in the US each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Europe each summer -- TED includes occasional TED Salons hosted by its executives, the award-winning TED.com video site (offering hundreds of free TEDtalks subtitled in dozens of languages), the TEDPrize, the TED Fellowship, channels on YouTube and iTunes, collaboration with television broadcasters, TED Conversations, TED Books, as well as hundreds of independent, community-organized TEDx events taking place all over the world.

Over the last decade, Intel has evolved from a company that largely serves the PC industry, to a company that increasingly provides the vital intelligence inside all things computing. In fact, one-third of Intel’s revenue is associated with products beyond the PC. Hardware and software products by Intel and subsidiaries such as McAfee power the majority of the world’s data centers, connect hundreds of millions of cellular handsets and help secure and protect computers, mobile devices and corporate and government IT systems. Intel technologies are also inside intelligent systems, such as in automobiles, automated factories and medical devices. Through these products and services, Intel aims to deliver engaging, consistent and secure experiences across all Internet-connected devices, whether in the home, car, office or pocket. To this end, the company applies its unique technology and manufacturing strengths, global reach and brand, along with its substantial ongoing investments in R&D and its extensive worldwide business ecosystem.
